I’ve thought a lot about this idea of having men teach other men about feminism and I’d like to pose to you the question of what specifically do you think these feminist men should teach other men about feminism?
I think there is a lot everyone can learn from feminist men (feminists too!), and I personally see feminist men as crucial to the future of women’s studies. What I find interesting is how/why feminist men arrive at the position of being feminist men. I don’t mean to suggest that being a feminist man is outrageous or strange (on the contrary, I think it’s wonderful!), but rather am curious as to how/why they come to distinguish themselves as feminist men. I think feminist men can help bridge the gap between the sexes by serving as an example of what can be gained when one isn’t bound by traditional gender norms and hierarchies. I also think it is important for feminists not to overlook the fact that men too can be equally constrained by expectations of masculinity.
